"Actinide XAS" is a series of unique international workshops, which focus on the basic- and applied research of radioactive materials using synchrotron-based techniques.

This workshop has been held in France (1^st, 2^nd, and 5^th), USA (3^rd), and Germany (4^th), since the 1^st workshop in 1996. Then the workshop comes to Japan for the first time. It will be held at Hyogo Prefectural Center for Advanced Science and Technology, where is very close to the world-largest 3^rd generation synchrotron, SPring-8.
